Mancini Legal is committed to conducting its business responsibly and ethically. We oppose modern slavery and human trafficking in all their forms, including forced labour, servitude and child labour. This statement explains the steps we take to identify, prevent and address the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking within our business and our supply chains.

About Mancini Legal

Mancini Legal is a law firm providing legal services to individuals and businesses. We are committed to maintaining high standards of professional and ethical conduct in all aspects of our business and in our relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors and other third parties.

Our supply chains

As a legal practice, our supply chains are relatively straightforward. They include suppliers and service providers supporting the operation of our business, which may include office and facilities services, technology and telecommunications, professional advisers, recruitment and temporary staffing providers, stationery, equipment and other goods and services.

We recognise that the risk of modern slavery can arise at different levels of a supply chain and therefore seek to work with organisations that share our commitment to responsible and ethical business practices.

Our commitment to ethical business

We are committed to acting with integrity and to ensuring that our business relationships are conducted in a responsible manner. We do not tolerate modern slavery or human trafficking within our business or in our supply chains and expect our suppliers and service providers to maintain appropriate standards of employment and business conduct.

Due diligence and risk management

We take a proportionate, risk-based approach to identifying and managing the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking. As part of this approach, we may:

  • consider the nature of the goods or services being provided and the circumstances in which they are supplied;
    • assess relevant suppliers and service providers where appropriate;
    • consider the policies and practices of suppliers where the nature or value of the relationship makes further enquiries appropriate;
    • use supplier questionnaires or other due diligence measures where appropriate;
    • take account of relevant contractual commitments and standards relating to ethical employment practices; and
    • review any concerns or information brought to our attention and take appropriate action where necessary.

People and awareness

We recognise that awareness is an important part of preventing modern slavery. We seek to ensure that relevant members of our team understand the risks associated with modern slavery and human trafficking and know how to raise concerns.

We will continue to review whether additional guidance or training is appropriate for our staff, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management and risk management.

Our approach to suppliers

We expect suppliers and other business partners to comply with applicable laws and to operate in accordance with appropriate ethical and employment standards.

Where concerns arise regarding a supplier’s approach to modern slavery or human trafficking, we will consider what further information or remedial action is appropriate. Where we cannot reasonably satisfy ourselves that a supplier is taking appropriate steps to address significant concerns, we may review the relationship and consider whether it is appropriate to continue working with that supplier.

Looking ahead

We will continue to review and develop our approach to modern slavery and human trafficking. Our activities may include reviewing relevant policies and supplier arrangements, maintaining awareness of emerging risks, undertaking proportionate supplier due diligence and providing further training or guidance where appropriate.

We will continue to build on our commitment to responsible and ethical business practices and to reducing the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking within our business and supply chains.

Review

This statement will be reviewed periodically and updated where appropriate to reflect changes in our business, our supply chains, relevant risks and applicable legal requirements.
